Internal Facebook Meeting Audio Leaks, Tim Cook Sits Down with Stern, Ringification of Suburbia

Today's Above Avalon daily update includes the following stories:

  • Internal Facebook Meeting Audio Leaks

  • Tim Cook Sits Down with Stern

  • Ringification of Suburbia

We begin today’s email with my thoughts on The Verge getting its hands on leaked audio from two recent Mark Zuckerberg Q&A sessions with Facebook employees. We discuss how the press continues to mishandle its approach to Facebook. The discussion then turns to several new comments from Tim Cook on competition and regulation. We conclude with a look at a recent Wired piece on how home security cameras are taking over neighborhoods. There are a few observations worth discussing when thinking about security cameras and smart homes.
