Happy Wednesday.

Yesterday’s update was all about OpenAI’s spring event. Today’s update is all about Google I/O 2024.

Let’s jump right in.

Google I/O 2024

Sundar Pichai kicked off the I/O 2024 keynote (video available here) by saying Google was fully in its Gemini era, after more than a decade of AI work. Gemini is Google’s multimodal model which can turn any input (text, images, video, code, and more) into any output. Sundar said that the combination of Gemini, multimodal, long context, and agents brings Google closer to its ultimate goal of making AI helpful for everyone.

The keynote’s first 15 minutes may have been one of the better openings to Google I/O in years.
